    Two Events - Two Successes

We had two recent events and they were both successful. Our Meet and Greet dinner on 9/11 was well attended and we had new people. We discussed the upcoming trip to Howe Caverns and our Thanksgiving Dinner.

    Nude cave

The trip to participate in the Howe Caverns Naked Cave Stroll was great.  Six Niagara Naturists members made the trip. We were joined by several members of the AANR East officers and friends. It was a fun time.

Howe Cavern NAked MedalThe first event was a canvas painting project. I have to admit, that your webmaster is not good with figure or landscape pictures. But, all of the pictures turn out well. Most everybody painted in the nude so there was not much need for smocks .

We were all issued Howe Cavern robes that we wore for dinner.

After dinner, it was time for the Cavern Stroll. When we reached the bottom of the elevator, we turned in our robes for our natural look and proceeded into the cave.  It was kind of fun watching people who had never been nude in a public setting. Their uncertainty, about the situation, seemed to  disappear by the end of the event.

The cave is a beautiful work of nature. Half way down the walk, we were served hot coffee, hot chocolate and cookies.

At the end of the cave was a boat ride down the balance of  the cave that's open to the public.

After the visit to the cave itself, we socialized to music and drinks. We met several people that had been on the tour in past years. We spent a lot of time discussing future events. It was a great time.

    Next Meet and Greet Dinner

Our next clothed Meet and Greet will be on Saturday 10/2/21 which will be at the Hillview Restaurant which is located at 6135 Transit Road, Depew, NY.  They have a private meeting room. We will start at 5:45PM. From 5:45 to 6:00pm is a meet and greet portion with dinner starting at 6:00PM. Anybody can come to our dinner meetings. You do not have to be a member of the club and you do not need reservations. Please come, ask questions, and see what the club is all about, socialize and get to know us. The only cost is your meal and drinks.

Our Meet and Greet Dinners serve two functions. First, since our members come from a wide geographic area, it allows our members to get together and socialize. Second, it allows new people to meet our current members in a public and non-threatening environment. During this meeting, prospective members can socialize with our members, ask questions, and determine if a membership in Niagara Naturists is for them. Our Meet and Greet is only one week before the Thanksgiving dinner. Please make your reservations soon.

    Nude Thanksgiving Dinner

Our 8th annual Nude Thanksgiving Dinner at the Nudist Lodge will be on 10/9. Although we have had very good luck with this fall event, we decided to make it earlier to better the chances of good weather. This is also close to the Canadian Thanksgiving Date in honor of our Canadian Members. Hopefully, they will be able to join us.

We are now taking reservations by email for the Dinner. Ginger will supply the Turkey, dressing, and gravy. The balance will be potluck.

As you know, we need a minimum number of people in order to have this event. The Lodge is located in Wyoming County. Directions will be sent to those who RSVP.

We will be getting there around 10:00AM to set up. You may join us any time after that. Come early and enjoy the nudist freedom. The Potluck Thanksgiving Dinner will start at 5:00PM

The cost will be $20.00 for Niagara Naturists/AANR members and $25.00 for non-members.

Again, since we have to rent the Lodge, we need a minimum number of people.

Setting up events like this takes a lot of work and can become stressful. It really becomes stressful when there is only short time until the event and not enough people have signed up to pay for it. We know that it is sometimes hard for you to plan 6 weeks into the future, but please make your reservations early so that our stress level doesn't go too high. Please email your reservation to niagaranaturists@gmail.com  You can also register online  by clicking here

What is Naturism? Getting Started with Naturism (from NaturistGo Blog)

It may well be that the current publicity that naturism is getting, is stirring an urge within you to experience being in a nudist environment yourself.

But how would you get started? Its not as if you would march straight into your local naturist club and strip off, or maybe you could… in which case its a waste of your time reading this!

Most people though, would approach something of this nature in a very cautious manner, after all, there maybe all sorts of deep rooted anxieties going on.

Possibly the best way to start practising naturism is on holiday. Most people lose some of their inhibitions and stresses amongst like-minded strangers in a sunny resort.

So here are some top tips on becoming a fully fledged naturist.

    1. Go to a proper, designated nudist area. You don’t want your first time naked on a beach to be interrupted by any local authority!

    2. When you first get naked, you will feel as though the rest of the beach are looking at you. They are not. (usually)

When you are ready to disrobe, do so in a matter-of-fact manner. It is when a first-timer looks nervous and dithers, that could attract attention.

    3. Use plenty of high factor sun lotion on those bits and pieces of your body, that have never before seen the light of day.

    4. Do everything at your own pace, there is no rush. The whole idea of the exercise is about freedom and enjoyment.

    5. If you get the opportunity, do chat to fellow nudists – their first-time experiences will mirror your own, and add to your confidence.

    6. When you feel totally comfortable in your nakedness, definitely do go for a swim in the nude. You will be amazed at how free and next to nature you feel. From now on you may actually resent the wet, clingy swimwear that you would have on conventional holidays!

    7. Moisturise heavily at the end of the day.

    8. When you return from your naturist holiday, immediately phone your nearest naturist club and ask to make a pre-joining visit.

During the visit, don’t be frightened to ask as many questions as possible. The person showing you around will also be asking you questions, because they will want to know that you will fit in to their clubs ethos.

If you are male, you may not be accepted as a member straight away, this is only because most naturist clubs will want to keep the right balance between male and female, and the majority of naturist club applications are male, so they may put you on a waiting list.

Book up for your next naturist holiday!
